Have you ever wanted to forage wild food and medicine from the world around you? Are you too scared or overwhelmed to start? The Forager’s Collection can help you start practicing the art of foraging!
Throughout the month of September, I’m going to be participating in the Living From Scratch Giveaway with 16 of my blogging friends. With this giveaway, you can download great digital products from each blogger. Read all the way to the end for the links to the other blogger’s giveaways!
For this giveaway, I’m giving away a total of 5 foraging resources, for free! You only have to subscribe to my email list once to get all the resources in The Forager’s Collection.
I also have a foraging category on my blog where you can read my foraging posts.
Why you should forage
Foraging is a wonderful way to supplement your family’s food supply, while getting out in nature. Many of the “weeds” around us are actually more nutritious and valuable than the plants we spend so much time cultivating in the garden. And you don’t have to do a thing to manage them!
Foraging is also a great way to dive into making your own medicine. Of course, you can order herbs online to make your medicine, but I love foraging for mine. First, it’s free. Second, I think that foraging the plants around you helps you gain much more knowledge of the plants. You learn to connect with the plants more and understand their properties by gathering them where they naturally grow.
With rumors going around about possible food shortages due to the pandemic, it’s a wise idea to learn how to source your food from places other than the grocery stores. What better way than to use the plants that grow wild around us?
Before you start foraging, please read my post, The Beginner’s Guide to Foraging. There are some things you should know before you venture out to gather your own free food and medicine.

This handy guide teaches you the do’s and don’ts of foraging. Be safe, be smart, be legal. Don’t go forage without it!
Week 2: Forager’s Coloring Book
With detailed pictures that you can color how you want or how your research guides you, this Forager’s Coloring Book is sure to delight all ages. It will help familiarize you with some of the many edible and medicinal weeds that grow in North America.

Week 4: My Foraging Workbook
This workbook lets you document all the new plants you find on your journeys. Print off your pictures to attach, and do some internet research on each plant. You can add whatever information you want to keep, and add to it whenever you want. This workbook also includes information on 2 basic plants as a jumping-off point.
Week 5: Edible and Medicinal Weeds
This worksheet lists the common edible and medicinal weeds that grow in North America. Print this off and cross off or color each one as you learn to identify and use the plant.
