Gardening is a great way of increasing your self reliance

Gardening is one of the best ways of raising your self reliance. If you plan it properly, you can eat fresh out of the garden the entire growing season, and preserve some of that bounty to eat from all year round.

Gardening doesn’t have to be difficult, either. Even if you think you have a “brown thumb”, you can do it! It just takes research and learning. And we’re here to help you with that.

I used to not be able to keep any plants alive – especially house plants! But that has changed, and my garden is usually pretty productive.

You do have to have a little time in your day to tend to your garden. Since I struggle with that myself, I can’t help you there. But I can give you the knowledge you need to have a thriving, productive garden!

My biggest advice to new gardeners is to take it slow. Don’t build a huge garden right off the bat. Start small, and learn everything you can along the way. That’s the best way to not get overwhelmed.

Gardening is a hobby that will provide you and your family lots of nutritious, healthy food.

Soon you will learn how to grow the majority of the food your family eats. That, my friend, is self reliance!
